Dave Mancini - What Is Your Time Really Worth?- DAS Audio Stage at the South Point Showroom
PRESENTATION TITLE
What Is Your Time REALLY Worth?
DESCRIPTION
Discover how much time you actually spend preparing for and facilitating events. Then learn how to charge accordingly and overcome price based objections.
KEY BENEFITS/TAKEAWAYS
1.) An easy to follow and totally customizable step by step breakdown of how many hours we as MCs and DJs
spend preparing for and facilitating weddings and other events. (Audience participation is highly encouraged and each attendee can break down their own process
in real time.)
2.) “The Math” to show each attendee how much they are actually charging per hour so they can determine if this is acceptable to them or if they need to raise their
prices to avoid being underpaid.
3.) Specific and powerful examples of how to use this time-based pricing structure in negotiations to easily and confidently overcome any price-based objections.
About Dave Mancini
I have been working as a professional MC/DJ since April of 1993 when I was hired by J&M
Entertainment out of Southern California. I worked for Jorge Lopez (J&M) for 20 years, the last 5 of
which were as his Entertainment Director. In 2013 I finally decided to venture out on my own so I
could focus almost exclusively on Weddings, which has become my brand over the last 9 years. I have
learned in the almost 30 years I have been DJing and MCing weddings that there is a lot more time
dedicated to the preparation and facilitation of a wedding than just about any other type of event.
Since getting involved in my local chapter of the ADJA (The Los Angeles AJDA Round Table), I have
also learned that many of my colleagues are not getting paid what they are worth compared to the
amount of hours they put in. When I was elected Vice President of my chapter last year, my most recent
presentation addressed this very topic. To say I opened a few eyes that day is an understatement.
Almost everyone who attended that meeting said this topic NEEDS to be shared with mobile
entertainers across the country. (Even those who do not focus on weddings were able to take what I
presented and apply it to their own business models.) Some of them even raised their prices because of
what I showed them.
Weddings are my passion and I have worked with hundreds of couples across Southern California,
Northern California, and Southern Nevada. I am a firm believer that we, as Mobile DJs should be able
to earn a living with our talents and skills. In addition to almost 30 years in this business as a
professional MC, my speaking and presenting experience has grown not only from my involvement in
my local ADJA chapter, but from my co-founding of Wedding U. (A seminar for brides and grooms
planning their weddings with a compendium podcast under the same name.)
